About
I’m Samantha Pieterse, a registered nurse, midwife, writer, and mom of two. I started Mums & Bums Mother and Baby Clinic with two goals: spending more time with my children and building a clinic where families feel comfortable and heard.
I’ve always believed that healthcare works best when it feels personal. After graduating from the University of Pretoria in 2018, I spent five years working in a busy government clinic, supporting moms and babies through some of their most important milestones. Before that, I trained as a basic ambulance assistant and worked on the road in Centurion, an experience that taught me to stay calm under pressure and trust my instincts.
Now, with two boys of my own, Luke (born in 2021) and Connor (born in 2023), I understand firsthand how much support new parents need. Whether it’s understanding vaccinations, wondering about a baby’s feeding pattern, or needing someone to listen, I’m here for all of it.
I have a special interest in baby health and pregnancy care, and I aim to make every visit feel easy, welcoming, and informative. There is no judgment, no rushing, just honest advice and up-to-date care in a familiar setting.
Outside of the clinic, I also work part-time in marketing for a healthcare company in New Jersey and have ghostwritten a few books. Writing has always been something I’ve loved.
The name Mums & Bums came to me in a conversation with my mom, and it stuck. It’s simple and speaks to the heart of what we do: supporting moms and caring for little ones.
If you’re looking for a clinic where you can ask questions, feel heard, and leave a little more confident than when you walked in, you’ve found it. I’m so glad you’re here.
